A Snapshot of Your Day 

In this important and dynamic role, you will lead the activities related to the development of service offerings for stationary battery energy storage system (BESS) projects. You will be a critical member of a global multicultural team, focused on the research, development, go-to-market, tendering, and execution of service BESS products. You will be responsible in collaboration with your colleagues for the development of market-leading service energy storage solutions for our global customers.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Further development of the service portfolio, including LTSA (Long Term Service Agreement) offerings for the BESS integration platform and market launch of these service offerings
  • Development of initial offerings and applications in coordination with cross-functional teams such as Distributed Energy Management Systems (DERMS), Instrumentation and Controls (I&C), software architects, application experts, tendering, and customers
  • Collaboration to develop and deliver an I&C platform for real-time control of the BESS installation, asset management solutions from other technology areas, site IT network and connectivity infrastructure, BESS application engineering and technical studies, remote operation solutions, etc., to deliver a fully integrated digital solutions suite as part of LTSA offerings
  • Leading or coordinating with third-party providers for battery prognostics and health management solutions, energy management solutions, power plant controllers, etc., to develop customized solutions based on project requirements
  • Development of remote maintenance and operation applications for BESS, including remote access, remote support, and autonomous operation
  • Configuration of customized solutions using state-of-the-art cybersecurity practices to support our customers
  • Supporting research and development (R&D) programs focused on optimizing operation and maintenance, availability and performance guarantees, predictive capabilities, and augmentation based on customer requirements and business drivers
  • Supporting our commissioning engineer with the commissioning plan and system upgrades
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in electrical engineering, power systems, computer science or a similar field & at least 5 years of experience in the energy industry with experience in DERMS (distributed energy resource management systems), I&C, remote and autonomous operation of power plants and the related energy infrastructure, experience with T3000 a plus
  • Expert understanding of control network architectures, network protocols, energy management system, power plant controllers, plant monitoring platforms, etc. in the context of battery energy storage systems or renewable power plants & basic understanding of stationary battery storage systems, technologies, and components including batteries, transformers, controls, monitoring, digitalization or power conversion systems
  • Understanding of service offerings including LTSAs, guarantees for availability and performance, and reliability and maintainability studies (RAMS) as well as Service and hands-on experience supporting commissioning of systems, troubleshooting, issue resolution, and deployment on energy assets.
  • Basic know-how about standards, regulations, grid codes, transmission & distribution, and market requirements
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills in English with German a plus
  • Motivated and ability to self-organize and prioritize complex tasks in an intercultural and global environment
