A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Industrial Engineering Supervisor at the foundry facility in Gibsonton, FL, you will lead a team of dedicated technicians that are creating state of the art components for use in metal part casting. Our components enable world class turbine engine performance, and your efforts directly impact future power generation efficiency and greenhouse gas emissions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

This position;

  • Supports Siemens Energy Tampa Operations in Process Engineering and Manufacturing aspects.
  • Ensures all technicians under their control abide by all safety related policies and immediately escalates any perceived unaddressed workplace hazards to the appropriate responsible person, including issuing “stop work” orders if necessary.
  • Provides real-time shop floor manufacturing support including leading or participating in lean and automation projects.
  • Provides direct supervision of hourly technicians to ensure adherence to approved processes and ensures appropriate on floor staffing levels are present at all times.
  • Acts as primary daily lead of technicians in their assigned area. This position must lead by example and exhibit a high level of personal responsibility to create an “ownership culture” amongst their team members.
  • Takes part in generating shop floor work instructions and creating manufacturing standards.
  • Performs process data analysis, leads Six Sigma & lean continuous improvement projects, and facilitates ongoing process improvement.
  • Works closely with executive site management.
  • This role will interact with interdepartmental peer and management positions including: 
    • Environmental Health and Safety
    • Manufacturing
    • Quality
    • Facilities
    • General Management
    • External customers

What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering, preferably materials engineering or mechanical engineering.
  • 5 years of Manufacturing / Process / Quality Engineering experience.
  • 3 years of direct employee management / supervision experience.
  • Experience in die casting, molding, or ceramic engineering/manufacturing preferred
  • Experience in the manufacturing environment and exhibits an understanding of manufacturing KPIs and lean concepts.
  • Data driven, technical lead geared toward developing creative and manufacturing friendly solutions.
  • Proven track record of yield / quality improvements and productivity gains.
  • Lean Six Sigma training & experience preferred.
  • High initiative and strong team player.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to travel, up to 10%
