As a Test Assembler, you will be responsible for performing the final assembly of the transformer including preparation of the tanks, radiators, conservators, and other parts as well as preparing the transformer for testing. This position is designed for someone who brings a blend of technical expertise, and a commitment to safety and quality compliance. As you progress in your job role, you would be able to support us in growing the department by assisting in the training and development of new hires in the organization.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Preparation of tanks, covers, radiators, conservators, and other parts for final assembly.
- Performing the final assembly of the transformer following technical standards.
- Preparing the transformer for the testing process and disassembling accessories post-testing for shipping.
- Conducting quality inspections and documenting processes.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of technical instructions for assembly and disassembly procedures.
- Planning and reviewing tasks according to the production plan and manufacturing standards, while adhering to all protocols, policies, and guidelines (EHS, QA, CyberSec, etc.).
What You Bring
- High school degree or equivalent with 2+ years of experience in the assembly process for large equipment.
- Experience operating cranes and the ability to obtain a Crane operation certification.
- Ability to use math, read and interpret complex drawings, and perform complex measurements.
- Applicant must be able to obtain Keys certification test on reading and writing and Blueprint reading test offered by local community colleges.
- Applicant must be able to obtain and maintain Fork Truck License and certification for working in heights.
- Ability to effectively communicate and demonstrate leadership skills to eventually become a trainer/mentor for new hires in the future.
- Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa
Other Key Requirements:
- Successful applicants must be able to pass standard hearing, vision, and pulmonary function tests.
- Must also be able to read, write, understand, and follow verbal and/or written instructions in English.
- Must be willing to relocate temporarily to Mexico or Brazil for on-the-job training for a period of 3 months or more based on the proficiency in the area of training. Appropriate relocation support and compensation will be provided.
