A Snapshot of Your Day 

We currently have a fantastic opportunity for a Network Engineer to join our Concepts & Innovation team based at our offices in Karlsruhe, Germany. You will be responsible for the development and implementation of network concepts on our Siemens control system fleet in the power generation industry.

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Design of network topologies and secure network solutions for new requirements such as SCADA using the Siemens device portfolio 
  • Design of new secure communication mechanisms such as layer 2 tunneling protocol via VPN 
  • Network analysis using internal and external tools
  • Firewall and router configuration and maintenance, e.g. of Cisco and Siemens-Scalance and Siemens-Ruggedcom products
  • Technical support of in-house departments, such as sales, project execution, training center and end customers regarding network topics
  • Maintenance of the in-house remote service platform cRSP, e.g. commissioning of routers, user account management, troubleshooting, customizing
What You Bring
  • Degree in Engineering and / or Information Computer Technology or equivalent
  • Experience working in the power generation controls systems industry or large-scale continuous operation industrial control applications
  • Experience with Siemens SPPA-T3000, SPPA-T2000 or PCS7 Distributed Control Systems (DCS) will be highly regarded
  • Solid understanding of Network concepts such as routing, sub-netting, VLANs
  • An understanding of cyber security concepts including firewall configuration, VPN and remote access solutions
  • Willing to travel to sites and travel on short notice (10%-15%)
  • Fluent in English and German

Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
