The commercial sales management position has lots of internal and external interfaces as well different tasks from contract analyzing, doing calculations, developing strategies for bids with your technical counterparts, contract negotiations and much more.

 

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Responsibility for creating budgetary and firm bids in close collaboration with the Authorized Bid Project Manager and the bidding team.
  • Your hands-on attitude is required to successfully execute the full scope of financial and commercial activities during the sales phase based on SE’s Project Excellence Guide and all further applicable guidelines.
  • Analyze tender requirements, identify, manage, and mitigate risks in the commercial areas including, currency risks, financial security instruments, terms of payment, insurance, export control & customs, and compliance.
  • Considering customer’s and taxes requirements (incl. NCM and business models) you structure your bids, guiding our regional colleagues in the onshore parts, and create transparent wall-to-wall calculations.
  • Overall, the financial results according to set targets are managed professionally and you optimize gross profit, cash flow, and assets in your bids.
  • Supporting the selection and evaluation of business partners.
  • Lead the negotiation of commercial Ts&Cs and consortium contracts in coordination with the relevant departments (SE LC, SE TCF GDI / INS / PF, etc.).
  • Supporting the regional head in preparing country and regional strategies for our hydrogen activities

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, Finance, or Accounting.
  • Master of Business Administration and/or certifications in IFRS, GAAP, CPA.
  • BA/BS/Master’s degree in Business or Accounting/Finance. ACA, ACCA, CPA, or equivalent professional accreditation is desirable.
  • 8+ years of finance experience
  • Strong knowledge of Financial Controlling and Management Accounting (IFRS and US GAAP).
  • Reporting systems/environments. ERP, Finance systems, and financial digitalization knowledge preferably SAP Excel, Tableau, and Alteryx experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills in bid preparation (incl. calculation), taxes and NCM, contract negotiation, financing, accounting and reporting principles, contract- as well as claim and risk
  • Team player and experienced to integrate different perspectives with a clear results orientation.
  • Cross-functional and cross-organizational mindset, ability to connect with people at all levels, comfortable working with a virtual organization, open to new ways of thinking and
  • Experience dealing with corporate financial topics and supporting financial aspects of business development.
  • Long-term hands-on experience in commercial bid and sales management preferably in complex projects including excellent communication and negotiation skills and accustomed to presenting sales limits of authority to management offerings would be an asset.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

 In our Business Unit Sustainable Energy Business (SES), we are enabling the green hydrogen economy and decarbonization productions to lead the transition towards a decarbonized world with power-to-X and electrolysis systems.  The SES team at Siemens Energy is looking for an experienced commercial professional to be responsible for the financial and commercial aspects of creating Hydrogen Solutions and Power-to-X bids (supply and solutions).
