Reporting to the Head of Sales and as part of the sales team for the Compression business for Europe and Africa you will take up this new role targeted at securing compressor orders in the dynamic and fast evolving markets of the Netherlands and Belgium.

How you'll make an impact
This role is being created in recognition of the ‘first mover’ approach taken by the Dutch Government, its state controlled companies and the private industrial sector towards low carbon and hydrogen fuelled future state. Both the Netherlands and Belgium represent key target markets for applications of compressors in Hydrogen production, transmission and storage, Carbon Capture compression and decarbonised heat applications (such as heat pump and mechanical vapour recovery compression). These targets are defined by the Compression business’ strategy to take a significant proportion of its order entry in these energy transition applications. The successful candidate will work closely with the sub region business development team and will form the pinnacle of the sales triangle approach implemented in the CP sales process. The Sales Manager is responsible taking a sales opportunity through from PM20 to order award working with Commercial Sales Manager, Bid Manager and the Business Developer in the sub region.

The compression technology deployed for the target applications will range from process type and high speed reciprocating compressors, through single shaft centrifugal compressors to integrally geared compressors. These are driven variously by electric motors (fixed speed and variable speed), steam turbines and gas turbines. World leading technology such as high tip speed Hydrogen compressors and turboheaters will also be proposed to customers according to the application fields.

The customer group to be served is varied and the successful candidate will have the ability to discuss the CP value proposition equally well with C level executives, senior management and the customer’s engineers (whether these be within the end user company or the engineering contractor’s staff). It is anticipated that orders will be placed by both end users and EPC customers.

What you bring

We are seeking a dynamic, self motivated individual to join our team. We expect the successful candidate to have a strong background in process engineering and preferably compression technology experience. Ideally they should be a degree qualified engineer and/or have 8 to 10 years proven experience. Communication skills are vital as is a proven track record in sales of equipment, services and/or plant to end users and EPC’s. Above all we will be looking for a person who can think ‘out of the box’ and on their feet in front of customers by using own personal skills and the Siemens Energy compression technology to address the needs of our customers.

The core sales activities will be centred in the Netherlands/Belgium geographical area although some travel to manufacturing locations, customer offices abroad and sales activities in other sub regions of Europe and Africa may be required from time to time.
