In the role of Field Service Engineer, you will be responsible for applying your advanced and specialized knowledge of gas turbines and auxiliary equipment, as well as quality engineering guidelines and processes in order to participate in various inspection activities. You will be expected to communicate status and lessons-learned to the back-office engineering and management on a consistent basis.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide combustion turbine knowledge and expertise to division management, customer management, product line management and suppliers.

• Direct teams of field service engineers, technicians and craft labor personnel in the installation, repair maintenance and troubleshooting of combustion turbines, steam turbines and generators at various customer sites.

• Prepare and issue detailed reports regarding scope executed, the condition, repairs performed and recommendations for customer equipment.

• Responsibility to comply and / or enforce the protocols, policies, guidelines, and competencies of the current integral management system (EHS, Quality).

• Direct team of field service technicians and craft labor personnel at customers facilities, repair maintenance and troubleshooting of combustion turbines, steam turbines and generators at various customer sites.

• Performs specialized, technician level work in the field in one or more of the defined specialty tasks: i.e: exchange of turbine/ compressor blades and vanes.

• Manage team members to disassemble, inspect, conduct repairs, and assemble gas/steam turbines.

• Effectively identifies technical or schedule problems as they occur and takes appropriate actions to resolve including escalation of more complex issues to a higher level.

• Performs check list inspections and compile records to document condition of equipment and assure quality.

• Works closely with supervisors, and fellow employees and assist them as required.

 What You Bring

• University Degree in Mechanical Engineering or similar (Bachelor’s degree).

• Professional Experience (7+ years) as a Mechanical Field Service Specialist, in gas turbine maintenance or related engineering field.

• Ability to handle pressure and have a service mind

• Technical Knowledge on combustion turbine and associated auxiliary systems.

• Fluent English writing/speaking for communication is preferred

• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 80% of time (sometimes required to travel on short notice).

• Self-motivated with strong customer focus.

• Experience reading, interpreting, and following technical drawings, and written work instructions/procedures is required.

• Ability to work in team and individual environment. Must have ability to develop client relationships, display excellent listening skills, and maintain a positive attitude.

• Analytical, detail oriented, well organized.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite software particularly Excel, Word and Project

• Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in Dominican Republic without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees may be eligible for internal transfers.
