A Snapshot of Your Day
As part of our highly motivated and international project team, you would work on either Power Generation, HVDC transmission, HV Substation and/or FACTS projects, helping us to take big steps together towards decarbonization and stability of the high-voltage grid! Working with a variety of clients, such as developers or transmission system operators, in different countries, you will be able to expand your expertise and intercultural skills and make an important contribution to the energy transition.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Overall responsibility for the execution of electrical engineering in our projects - securing the fulfillment of customer contracts and related specifications.
- Leading the electrical execution team in close collaboration and communication with the project engineering manager and general project management as well as with other relevant team members (e.g., your line manager)
- Leading and monitoring of our internal and external suppliers including handling electrical, I&C and related layout interfaces
- Project reporting regarding engineering progress, technical clarifications and engineering risks or opportunities
- Implementation, steering and control of the electrical design process with focus on related concepts, technical specification preparation and BoQs
- Monitoring of on time delivery of all work you're doing, quality and electrical engineering hour consumption and ensuring our EHS standards are met.
What You Bring (requirements)
- Master’s or bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Management or related fields
- +8 years’ Experience in managing and leading the electrical engineering of either large HVDC or Substation or Power Plant projects. Candidates with more experience can be considered for a higher level or vice-versa.
- Strong Technical knowledge in Electrical Power Systems, Motor Control Centers, MV and LV Switchgears, Transformers, Converters, Rectifiers Single Line and Three Line Diagrams etc.
- Experience with the design of NEC/IEEE Cables, Cable Routing, Duct banks, Cable Trays etc.
- Experience in project management and/or managing of intercultural teams. Intercultural collaboration and partnership with international clients, consortium partners and suppliers.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
