A Snapshot of Your Day
This position will support the global sales organization with bid support activities like review of specifications, issue of bid documents, technical clarification and costing input. In addition, the reduction and prevention of NCCs is a key target for this role.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Support Bid Management by preparing technical and commercial offers for compressor installations, including reviewing specifications and generating necessary documents.
- Hold technical and commercial responsibility for compressor packages, covering aspects like piping, base plates, heat exchangers, and noise attenuation.
- Collaborate closely with the global Bid Management team to develop technical offers and align on bid strategies.
- Specify and evaluate outside purchased equipment, assess vendor quotes, and implement cost optimization measures.
- Develop General Arrangement Drawings in collaboration with the drafting team and participate in technical clarification meetings with customers and suppliers.
- Engage in a fast-paced environment with diverse technical challenges, while expanding your professional network within Siemens Energy across various departments.
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in Rotating Equipment or Plant Design within the Oil & Gas or Process Industry, with consideration for more senior roles for candidates with additional experience.
- Strong technical background in package components such as piping, valves, filters, scrubbers, and heat exchangers is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of designing supporting steel structures and base plates for rotating equipment, along with a general understanding of structural mechanics.
- Experience in cost reduction initiatives and engaging in sales-oriented activities, including technical discussions with customers.
- Familiarity with industry standards like API or NORSOK, as well as customer specifications for design adjustments and product costing; must be a proactive, flexible, and self-motivated team player with intercultural experience.
