A Snapshot of Your Day
As an Electrical Generator Control Commissioning Engineer, your typical workday involves gathering project information, checking emails, and ensuring team alignment. Safety is prioritized with briefings and risk assessments. You conduct signal testing, address errors with customers or subcontractors, verify and adjust device settings, and reprogram controllers as needed. Before hot commissioning, safety devices and circuits are tested and documented. Once operational, you perform primary checks and test protective functions. When not on customer deployment, you provide technical support, incident analysis, and remote troubleshooting, with support from your expert team.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Perform cold and hot commissioning of generator and electric control systems, ensuring safe and reliable operation.
- Manage generator excitation, protection, and synchronization systems.
- Optimize controls and regulations.
- Independently analyze and solve complex hardware and software issues.
- Conduct trial operations, customer training, and provide technical advice.
- Handle troubleshooting and serve as the contact for incident analysis.
What You Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, specializing in electrical/control technology, power plant, or energy technology.
- Preferably experienced in field service, especially in commissioning generators, control technology, or electrical protection systems.
- Willingness to live and work abroad for extended periods and travel worldwide on short notice.
- Good knowledge of energy production and distribution, valid passport and driving license.
- High level of written and spoken English, critical thinking, and good communication skills.
- Resilient, empathetic, team-oriented, and interested in contributing to a successful energy transition.
