A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Quality Engineer within the Manufacturing Engineering Department, you’ll be the key point of contact for all quality-related matters on the shop floor. Each day, you’ll collaborate closely with Manufacturing Engineers, Cell Managers, and operators to drive continuous improvement and eliminate poor quality from manufacturing processes. You’ll perform inspections, review process documentation, and support investigations to identify and resolve root causes of non-conformance. Your work will not only ensure that every component meets the highest standards but will also help build a culture of quality ownership across the manufacturing team—contributing directly to Siemens Energy’s mission of delivering reliable and sustainable energy solutions.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Serve as the focal point for quality-related issues within your assigned manufacturing area, ensuring all processes and components meet required standards.

  • Promote quality awareness and ownership by engaging daily with shop floor teams to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Drive the reduction of non-conformance costs (NCC) by identifying quality issues, coordinating corrective actions, and ensuring sustainable solutions.

  • Conduct inspections of components and sub-assemblies to verify dimensional integrity and process accuracy.

  • Assist in root cause investigations when discrepancies are identified, and establish preventive inspection criteria to maintain process stability.

  • Monitor and measure process capability, working closely with validation, substantiation, and manufacturing teams.

  • Support first article inspection (FAI), supplier surveillance, key feature measurement, and final inspection as needed.

  • Interface regularly with Quality Management and Manufacturing teams to align priorities, workloads, and schedules, ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction.

What You Bring

  • A time-served engineering apprenticeship or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Production Engineering.

  • 5+ years of experience as an inspection technician, team leader, or machine operative, with strong knowledge of quality control and inspection techniques.

  • Solid understanding of process and statistical control, FMEA, SAP, and modern quality systems.

  • A proactive team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of fostering a culture of quality and accountability.

  • Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail, with a passion for problem-solving and continuous improvement.

  • Comfortable liaising across multiple teams, from operators to engineers and managers, and contributing to collective departmental targets.
