A Snapshot of Your Day 
As a Troubleshooter (f/m/d) you will be a team member in the global product engineering team for compressors and hence responsible for order specific design execution of turbo compressors in consideration of customer specifications, in close contact to workshop and vendors. Your workplace will be based in Duisburg, Germany, in a challenging technical environment. 

How You’ll Make an Impact 
  • Work in close collaboration with the Duisburg workshop and vendors to ensure smooth order execution of projects that flow through the European Compressor Design teams for Revamps, Footprints and Upgrades
  • First point of contact for technical issues occurring during manufacturing or assembly process, either in the Duisburg workshop or at vendor workshops
  • Attend assembly meetings, design quality reviews and risk assessments for safe handling of compressor parts
  • Approve and organize engineering deliverables, like 3D-models, drawings, bill of materials in Teamcenter and SAP, relevant for issue solutions with supply chain
  • Share your knowledge and insights with our global engineering teams to drive product and process improvements


What You Bring
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in mechanical engineering and 5-10 years of experience in design drafting (2D and 3D CAD, preferably NX), working with rotating machinery, e.g., centrifugal compressors, centrifugal pumps, axial compressors, hot gas expanders or auxiliary systems
  • Hands-on know-how in production methods to evaluate and advise on appropriate, safe and fast technical solutions. High attention to detail and big picture problem solver. Knowledge in 8D-process, especially in methods to investigate on issue root cause
  • Ability to work independently on sophisticated projects, collaboratively and individually with the same passion and intensity
  • Possess and demonstrate a high degree of tact and professionalism; and be capable of dealing with Management, Peers, Shop Personnel, Vendors, and Clients. Excellent communication, interpersonal and writing skills, good organizational and time management skills
  • Open-mindedness and benevolence
  • Fluent German and English and willingness to domestic/international travel
