Position Title: Senior Client Manager

A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Senior Sales Manager at Siemens Energy, you will play a pivotal role in transforming Siemens Energy into an integrated energy and technology company, leading the energy transformation in the Southern & Eastern Africa subregion. You will be a key member of our team, driving field sales during a challenging transformation period. Your focus will be on driving sales, developing concepts, and providing solutions for customers across the subregion and the Siemens Energy portfolio.

How You’ll Make an Impact  

Sales:

  • Develop and execute an Annual Operating Plan (AOP) to meet individual targets, and plan/forecast order volumes based on customer potential and budgets.
  • Proactively drive sales and identify leads for Gas Services (GS) and other business areas in Southern Africa (e.g., Mozambique, South Africa, Tanzania, and Namibia).
  • Develop and manage long-term relationships with clients and other stakeholders at multiple organizational levels.
  • Act as a key Siemens Energy representative in the subregion, fostering connections with customers, partnerships, and government entities.
  • Identify new growth areas and establish new customer segments to expand business opportunities and the Siemens Energy pipeline.
  • Initiate the LoA Management process for standard business in accordance with GS global policies.
  • Incorporate Miller Heiman Strategic Selling Strategies in all sales activities.

Government Affairs/Marketing:

  • Proactively engage and strengthen relationships with governments and other partners.
  • Collaborate with other functions within the subregion and across different Business Areas.
  • Provide insights into client needs, competitive intelligence, market drivers, and buying influences for the development of new products and services.
  • Showcase Siemens Energy capabilities at roadshows, fairs, conferences, and other events.

What You Bring 

  • Master’s degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of direct experience in the energy, oil, gas, chemical, or petrochemical industries with a strong sales background, including senior-level customer engagement and lobbying at state authorities.
  • Proven experience as a senior coach and team player, willing to go the extra mile for the benefit of the team.
  • A strategic mindset with versatility, creativity, and the ability to work in a lean, agile, and hands-on manner.
  • Experience in the following fields is a plus: Oil & Gas, project finance, complex infrastructure projects involving international stakeholders from the private and public sectors, value selling, and business plan calculations.
  • Experience developing projects in the African landscape, with a willingness to travel frequently abroad and/or relocate within the subregion.
  • Proficiency with Salesforce.com and the LoA quality process.
  • Language: Fluent in English; Portuguese is preferred.
