A Snapshot of Your Day 

The SE P DM organization is responsible for developing procurement strategies for direct materials that will ensure the optimization of Siemens Energy’s competitive position.

As a Commodity Management Professional, you are part of our corporate global strategic procurement team (SE P DM). You are responsible for Electrical components with focus on Cables and in addition LV/MV -Switchgears supporting our project business (PE).

How You’ll Make an Impact 

  • Manage assigned Commodities globally and cross-organizational
  • Be strong interface to Project Procurement, Project Management, Sales & Proposal, Cost-Value Engineering and Supplier quality management
  • Define and implement material productivity programs/ measures to achieve the maximum contribution to the targets.
  • Define and implement Commodity and Pooling strategies based on conducted demand, market and supplier analyses, communicate strategies to ensure long-term, cost-efficient and resilient supply of materials and foster Global Value Sourcing.
  • Define and implement negotiation concepts and strategies to maximize savings; negotiate frame contracts, execute E-auctions
  • Forward systematically all relevant Procurement related project information (e.g., updated contractual conditions, Supplier Management data) to keep all stakeholders up to date
  • Identify supply chain risks, opportunities, and market forces to avoid potential damage/ exploit potential opportunities through tailored risk/opportunity management.
  • Perform Supplier Management: Supplier selection, incl. documentation and communication of strategic suppliers, regular supplier and strategic evaluations, supplier classifications and supplier development to obtain and develop the best suppliers.

What You Bring

  • University degree in a technical or business-related field
  • Several years of experience in procurement related roles (Project procurement, commodity management) or similar expertise in technology knowledge of electrical components
  • Capability to negotiate and to operate in different cultures
  • Knowledge for setup of procurement strategies on different material fields
  • Strategic thinking and strong analytical skills
  • Knowledge of contract law and export control
  • Excellent English language skills, German language skills desirable
  • Travel percentage ~10%
