A Snapshot of Your Day

As a Project Management Officer (PMO) for Competency & Entry Level Talent Management you’ll drive and support the management of competencies and resources across project management function improving efficiencies in project delivery, as well as manage the business entry level talent management and development improvement activities to continuously improve business performance in the Grid Technology Grid Solutions UK&I business.

You’ll also support cross-functional implementation of operational and business excellence approaches, according to SE Toolbox methods and tools, provide coaching and training in their application, as well as analysing the strengths and weak points of the current business and identify improvement areas. You’ll lead-in best practices and report into the Grid Technology, Grid Solutions UK&IE Operational Excellence Manager.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Support the development of a clear and robust competency management and resourcing strategy in conjunction with the management team to improve efficiency
  • Manage early career development across the business
  • Lead resource allocation efficiently across projects, taking into consideration competencies, skills requirements and availability
  • Handle PM competencies and skills, governed by a skills matrix.
  • Lead and report on business and competency management KPIs
  • Simplification - Champion the development and implementation of process management and harmonisation of processes
  • Facilitate Change Management in support of business excellence
  • Cultivate and drive continuous improvement within the business utilising LEAN approaches and other business improvement initiatives
  • Detailed knowledge & practical application of project management tools & methodologies; lean improvement tools and techniques.
  • Submit monthly management reports that accurately records the function’s performance against the defined set of measures


What You Bring

  • Degree or equivalent in an engineering or technology subject would be desirable
  • Experience in competency management, skills development and training
  • Experience in resource management and planning
  • Key management player, exerting a positive influence over team and other Functional Managers and employees
  • Demonstrable evidence of successful project resourcing, co-ordination and execution of multi-disciplined project teams
  • The ability to cultivate successful internal and external customer relationships
  • Ability to prioritise and manage own time effectively to achieve targets
