A Snapshot of Your Day

Siemens Energy is looking for an intern to assist the Media Relations Lead for North America with media monitoring and outreach. To excel in this role, applicants must be self-starters, have good time management skills and an eagerness to tell the story of how technology can accelerate our energy transition.

The media relations intern should have a fundamental understanding of American and Canadian media, strong writing and research skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office. Basic photography, graphic design and/or video editing skills are a plus.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Monitor local, trade and national and social media for awareness and to identify reporters and storylines for media outreach.
  • In local media markets where Siemens Energy has a footprint or projects, the [Media Relations Intern will build local media lists.
  • Help develop stories for Siemens Energy’s owned and earned channels and support large-scale announcements/engagements.
  • The media relations intern will support development of content of all kinds, attend weekly meetings, and may attend in-person/virtual events

What You Bring

  • Junior or Senior pursuing a Bachelor’s in Communications, Marketing, Journalism, Business, English, Psychology, Sociology or related
  • Applicants must have a minimum of a 3.2 GPA and have relevant prior work experience
  • Responsibility, Discipline, Flexibility, Drive, Curiosity, Proactivity, Ownership, Accountability, Teamwork, Positivity, Creativity, Good Energy. Strong written and oral communication skills

Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
