A Snapshot of your day

As a Mechanical Service Engineer and HRSG Specialist, you will engage in service activities for Siemens Energy’s large assets in Iraq, focusing on planning and coordinating HRSG inspections, inspecting HRSGs and associated valves, and managing mechanical dismantling and re-assembly tasks. Additionally, you will work with Gas Turbine and Steam Turbine valves, collaborating with team members, customers, and contractors while prioritizing HSE and quality in complex projects.

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Develop Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) inspection plan according to contract and prepare HRSG inspections in Iraq
• Carry out HRSG inspections, measurements and walkdowns, to assess HRSG pressure parts and relevant equipment
• Carry out mechanical maintenance activities on Gas and Steam Turbine Valves during planned and unplanned service activities in Iraq
• Documentation of findings and preparation of inspection reports with maintenance and repair recommendations
• Statistical evaluation of the findings at all HRSGs
• Participation in the qualification, selection of suppliers and coordinating with Vendors/Contractors for HRSG and Valve related topics

What You Bring

• B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Energy Technology/Process Engineering, with at least 3 years of hands-on experience as a mechanical/electrical fitter or engineer, preferably in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemical, or Power Generation industries. Vocationally trained candidates with relevant experience are also encouraged to apply.
• Experience with HRSGs, including borescoping, Non-Destructive Testing, welding processes, and plant construction and commissioning, is considered a strong benefit for the role.
• Hands-on experience with manual techniques, inspection technologies, and the use of manual and power tools, measuring equipment, rigging, and lifting equipment.
• Ability to read and understand P&ID, technical drawings, specifications, and unit conversions in accordance with international codes and standards, along with fluency in English (verbal and written) and willingness to travel frequently under challenging conditions.
• Proactive, problem-solving attitude with a readiness to take on additional tasks, strong interpersonal and communication skills, a commitment to lifelong learning, and a solid understanding of HSE and Quality requirements in the relevant field.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
