A Snapshot of Your Day
The Global Project Procurement Manager (PPM), as part of the Project Core Team starting from the project tender through until handover to warranty, coordinates the complete project procurement (including Onshore/Regional Scope, Civil, Erection) and identifies, drives, implements solutions for the project.
The PPM is a single point of contact who is knowledgeable and able to apply the full procurement process value. Driving for the best competitive solutions aligning with all relevant x-functions. The PPM oversees and steers procurement relevant aspects during the whole Project Lifecycle and defines the Sourcing Strategy alongside the Project Core Team / Procurement Community and closely links it to the overall project strategy!
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Define and align procurement strategy with the Project Core Team and Procurement Community during the whole Project Lifecycle. Driver of early involvement of tailored Sourcing Strategies in each project (including consistent price escalation formula and robust supplier offers as basis for cost calculation).
- Ensuring implementation of the Procurement Strategy and appropriate processes for Off- and Onshore scope of works by setting up the Procurement Collaboration Model with the respective region.
- Lead all aspects of market situations and provide strategies for Risk Mitigation and opportunity realization. Controlling Procurement activities and resources, engaging with relevant parties (such as Regional Unit, Engineering, Scheduler, Commercial Project Manager) to optimize Costs, Schedule and Quality Requirements.
- Analyzing whole supply and service scope, reviewing Customer Contracts on Procurement risks, performing Risk Analysis, preparing negotiations with suppliers, and translating Back to Backs to Project specific Supplier Contract standards.
- Providing support to the specialist buyers Commodity Managers/Experts in charge of the relevant material filed, to secure the projects goals on the best terms, holding contract and price negotiations for non-managed material fields.
- Providing relevant Procurement data for project controlling as well as compiling all essential information to deliver qualified reporting (e.g. for Project Team, Customer, Procurement Management).
What You Bring
- Bachelor’s in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or Engineering, or related field. (Or combined equivalent of education and work experience.) 5+ years experience in completing complex projects.
- Problem solving mentality, regardless of how big or small the problem! Strong organizational skills and excellent communication.
- PMP Certification or similar and SAP experience preferred, but not required.
- Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
