A Snapshot of Your Day
Siemens Energy is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Project Site Safety Expert to join our EHS, Quality, and Safety (EQS) team. This role is integral to maintaining and improving safety standards across various project sites within Europe, with a particular focus on the EAD business. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving safety improvements, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and encouraging a culture of safety.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in safety performance, using best practices and innovative solutions. Generate ideas which will contribute to EAD employees safety on site.
- Coordinate and conduct safety training sessions for project site personnel, ensuring they are well-informed about safety practices and emergency procedures. Ensure all EAD employees working on Project sites are following Stop Work process!
- Plan and conduct inspections to Ensure EAD employees are working in safe work environment which aligns with local, national, and international safety regulations and SE standards.
- Lead or participate (on customer sites) in investigations of any safety incidents or near-misses, identify root causes, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of safety inspections, audits, incidents, and training activities, and prepare detailed reports on demands.
- Engagement: Collaborate with project sites EHS management, EAD project managers, engineers, and other collaborators to integrate safety considerations into project planning and execution.
What you bring
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees or certifications in safety management are highly desirable.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety management role, preferably within the energy or construction industries.
- Comprehensive understanding of safety regulations, standards, and best practices applicable to project sites in Europe.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a careful attention to detail and a proactive approach to safety management. Excellent communication and training skills, capable of conveying safety information efficiently to diverse audiences.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or equivalent are preferred.
- Willingness to travel extensively across Europe, as this position involves more than average traveling to various project sites.
