Master Thesis: Causal Inference in Multivariate Time-Series Data for Energy Systems

As a Master's Thesis student on our team, you will work on a valuable project to uncover cause-and-effect relationships in multivariate time series and interaction networks. Your daily tasks will include:
- Applying statistical inference to high-dimensional operational data within the energy sector.

How You’ll Make an Impact
Apply brand new statistical inference techniques to decipher causal relationships from high-dimensional operational datasets in the energy sector.
- Build sophisticated causality networks, providing a visual and analytical framework for understanding complex system interactions.
- Engage in evidence-based analysis, using your findings to inform and optimize predictive maintenance and operational strategies.
- Collaborate closely with industry professionals to validate your methods, ensuring they are grounded in real-world applicability and efficiency.
- Contribute to the intelligence behind more balanced and reliable energy systems, playing a meaningful role in shaping the future of energy.
What You Bring
- Currently pursuing a master's degree in Machine Learning, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field, or possess equivalent experience.
- Strong background in statistics, machine learning, and time-series analysis.
- A passion for problem-solving and a drive to contribute to the advancement of balanced energy technologies.
- The ability to work independently, coupled with the curiosity to explore complex data sets and uncover hidden patterns.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to detail your work and present findings effectively.
- An attitude of collaboration, enthusiastic about working in a diverse team and incorporating feedback from different collaborators.
About the Team
You will get an opportunity to work with Application Platforms Business (APB) team, which is one of the teams in IT that is driving the End-to-end responsibility for all central applications and platforms

Implementing all projects concerning central platforms. Orchestrating the governance structure of Business Partner Boards.
