Overview:

The primary purpose of this position is to support production and product flow by operating the smaller machines, perform hand skill tasks, manual movement of parts and other tasks.

Operation and knowledge of the following is required

  • Operation and basic understanding of manual machines; mills, grit blasting, etc.
  • Product and equipment movement using Fork Truck, crane operations, hand trucks.
  • Operation of air tools, such as grinders, air hammers,
  • Understand the consequence of metal removal for future reuse of parts
  • Properly use basic inspection tools; Micrometers, Pie Tape, Depth Gages, etc

 

Qualifications

  • Pass an assessment to demonstrate hand skills to blend residual welds without damaging the parent material
  • Capability to operate manual machines; mills, grit blasting, etc air tools, such as grinders, air hammers, polymer dispenser, etc, and Be willing to work in a dusty/dirty environment while blasting
  • Obtain crane and Fork Truck license, lift 50lbs
  • Able to clean out pits (PT pits) and empty 50 gallon drums of media
  • Willing and capable of working outside and being fitted with respirator

 

Responsibilities:

  • Work from Manufacturing information, drawings, written and/or verbal instructions: while operating manual Milling machines and other cutting equipment. Set up and operate machines, perform preventative maintenance and cleanliness of equipment
  • Prepares parts for Grit Blast and operator blasting system. Ensure parts achieve required condition after operations. Perform preventative maintenance and cleanliness of equipment using hand tools (grinders, burrs, cut off wheels, etc), disassemble components without damaging parent material.
  • Operation of cutting machine; including the setup of parts and cleaning the equipment. And set up and operate air flow equipment. Properly record resultant data.
  • Operation of furnaces; including proper loading/unloading, preventative maintenance and pressure testing of components using appropriate fixtures and equipment.
  • Perform visual and dimensional review of components and document existing condition and interprets details drawings, sketches, blueprints, manufacturing specifications, shop routers, etc. and determines necessary tools to perform the required operations. And use authorized material handling devices, loads/unloads parts from machines and/or assists crane operators
  • Load, unloads material from equipment and moves to next operation.
