A Snapshot of Your Day
An opportunity to work in a high-performing development team at the vanguard of the energy transition. We are seeking individuals who are highly motivated to contribute their experience and knowledge to Siemens Energy's product range. The successful candidates will be responsible for evaluating and generating control policies that are required to run a digital solution that optimises emissions of a gas turbine. They will possess strong analytical and mathematical skills, as well as experience in reinforcement learning. Candidates with experience in the field of gas turbine combustion systems will be at an advantage, although this is not a prerequisite for the role.
How You’ll Make an Impact
● Collaborate with subject matter experts
● Select, extract, and explore large data sets
● Identify necessary process data for analysis objectives
● Develop and qualify timeseries prediction models
● Create and validate offline control policies using reinforcement learning algorithms
● Perform statistical analysis and verify model results with graphical representations
● Write reports on control policy testing, commissioning, and verification
● Support hardware-in-the-loop testing in the T3K controls lab (FAT)
● Utilize CI/CD processes
● Provide remote support for parameter optimization during site testing
● Resolve emergent field issues post-deployment
What You Bring
● A background (minimum degree level) in computer science
● Working in a diverse team with proven team capabilities to turn complex mathematical requirements into software (3-5 years)
● Good communication, collaboration and documentation skills for English
● Optional: Domain knowledge of power plants and gas turbine combustion systems
● German language knowledge is a plus
- Desired skills
- Good experience in Python programming (e.g. Pandas, NumPy, MatPlotLib)
- Working experience in TensorFlow
- Reinforcement Learning (offline)
- Knowledge of Java/Kotlin programming
- Competences in timeseries analysis, error analysis and discrete time signal processing
- Data extraction, transformation and loading (ETL)
- Requirement engineering
- Experience working with agile development teams, and the ability to prioritize and shift tasks to match changes in business priorities
Gas Services
Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
