A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR DAY

You will join a highly motivated machine shop where you will operate a manual centre lathe producing various components following work instructions to meet company standards. 


HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT

You will contribute to the team with your skill, experience and knowledge of: 

-  Setting and operating manual centre lathes to a high standard.

-  Using various work holding methods (Chucks, faceplates, fixtures etc.) to accurately set components.

-  Performing various manual operations such as turning, taper turning, facing, drilling, reaming, threading and polishing.

-  Understanding engineering drawings enabling you to carry out various operations.

-  Working to tight tolerances using the approved gauging methods.

-  Using various types of gauging such as micrometres, bowers gauges, plug gauges, snap gauges, verniers etc. to self-inspect parts during production operations.


WHAT YOU BRING

Expertise: experience in a relevant mechanical industry, preferably exposed to mechanical fitting related to rotating equipment

Manual Machining: Experience as a manual machinist is desirable but not crucial 

Qualifications: Preferably completed a recognized full level 3 apprenticeship, Candidates will also be considered that have an NVQ level 3 or Technical certificate in a relevant engineering field. 

Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail ensures every assembly is crafted with precision in line with company standards.
