Join our Supply Chain Management (SCM) Apprenticeship Programme based in Newcastle where you will gain a wide range of hands-on experience in number of Siemens Energy departments whilst working towards a professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS). This exciting new opportunity represent a new growth period for Siemens Energy Transmission Solutions and offer excellent opportunities to be part of our apprenticeship programme. You will also be paid a completive salary right from the start of the programme, so it's a great opportunity to earn money at the same time as developing yourself!


Your profile

SCM professionals are responsible for overseeing the procurement cycle to enable an organisation to be profitable and operate a sustainable and ethical supply chain. Some of the key activities involve defining business needs; developing a sourcing strategy; managing the bid process; contract negotiation and supplier relationship management. This role will specifically work within the Functional Excellence team of Procurement who have responsibility for driving the functions development to ensure the department has best in class tools; processes and people.

As a Supply Chain Management Apprentice, you will:

  • 5 GCSE’s at Level 4 or above and 2 A Levels at Level C or above
  • Qualification in computing related subject would be desirable

The Apprenticeship

  • Study Commercial Procurement and Supply through a NVQ Level 5 apprenticeship scheme. 
  • Work towards a professional qualification with the Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply (CIPS).
  • Undertake work-based training through rotation in several Siemens Energy businesses. Whilst on rotation, you will continue your college education through weekly day release. 

Your responsibilities

  • Help drive functional development in key areas of digitalization; optimising processes; data analytics; supplier management and people excellence.
  • Support function in governance topics to ensure comply with legal requirements and internal guidelines.
  • Be part of and gain experience in managing small improvement projects which focus on improving the efficiency and effectiveness of procurement processes and systems.
  • Provide support to operational procurement teams in areas of purchase order management; reporting and controlling & method; process and tools.
  • Work collaboratively with other functions to ensure procurement activities are integrated and aligned.
  • Analyse, use and present a range of information to provide supply market insight.
