Siemens Energy is currently searching for a New Unit Distributed Generation Sales Manager within Siemens Power Systems Sales organization to support the New Unit Business, which provides industrial sized gas turbines to serve a wide range of applications in the Oil & Gas and Power Generation market. The North America market investment trend is towards distributed energy production,  enabling reliable renewable energy intergradation and/or providing improved fuel efficiency with a smaller environmental footprint. We are now seeking North American Region Sales Managers, responsible for the new unit sales activities in a designated region, to lead sales actives from early development through contract negotiations with the objective of achieving the sales targets for the Business Unit


How You’ll Make an Impact

This position is responsible for leading the sales of Small New Units and coordinating with the Siemens Energy Distributed Generation business unit, utilizing available channels to market including resources within Siemens Energy North America organization;

  • Manage and coordinate the activities for Distributed Generation industrial-sized gas turbine new unit business for a geographic area within North America
  • Market observation to recognize trends, leads and opportunities for the industrial gas turbine segment
  • Relationship building with Key Accounts/ Customers in coordination with Siemens Energy Sales Networks.
  • Develop the bid strategy to provide solutions best meeting customer requirements and specifications
  • Identify and develop partners for the region
  • Coordinate the completion of technical and commercial proposals with support by sales team
  • Continuous follow up on sales projects e.g. opportunity tracking, forecast to meet financial goals and factory load plans, etc
  • Lead negotiations from customer request to closure of opportunities including handover to project execution team
  • Evaluate Project Risks through bid approval processes
  • Feedback on customer requirements, product improvements, market price levels & customer satisfaction
  • Ensuring achievement of booking volume for new unit gas turbines while meeting business targets


What You Bring 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or business-related field
  • 5+ years of sales / marketing experience and customer account management experience.
  • Preferred candidate would have meaningful/working relationships with Central sales leaders among the divisions and the ability to leverage when required.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to provide leadership to the various core product lines through the account team in devising strategy and sales plans to win.
  • Ability to listen to clients, extrapolate relevant data, and generate a winning strategy
  • Strong inclination towards personal development, coaching and mentoring to build high performance teams.
  • Flexibility in schedule needed to coordinate and support some evenings and/or weekend for customer events.
  • Able to positively lead project sales teams to provide the best and competitive proposal to our customers
  • Understanding of project finance requirements.
  • Self-motivated with high energy drive and business sense
  • Capable of multitasking, with excellent organization skills while assuring a high-quality work process
  • Experience in the overall gas and power industry preferred.
  • Experience of closing new unit projects, and/or service LTP or digital opportunities and/or large transmission projects preferred.
  • Strong understanding of the various products and services portfolio of the Siemens Energy Portfolio preferred
  • Wide and detailed knowledge of North America’s power generation and/or Oil & Gas market, including current and coming policies driving new investments preferred.
  • Strategic oriented with a detailed knowledge of products, services and markets of gas turbine industrial application business preferred
