A Snapshot of Your Day

The Project Manager will be responsible for successfully managing a portfolio of projects with volume ranging in multimillion USD that include dealing effectively with customers and internal partners. This role will develop a working knowledge of the organization, policies, procedures, business systems and tools as they relate to projects, as well as key suppliers and subcontractors.

The PM will be accountable for management of the scope, schedule, budget, and risk for the supply of Industrial Steam Turbines, and related systems to ensure successful project execution with predictable outcomes from order entry through the warranty period.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Run sales to execution turnover meetings, evaluate turnover documents and project requirements.
  • Analyze contractual special requirements, review contract specifications and schedule / reporting requirements.
  • Lead the development of project plans activity to assure effective execution by the project team and monitor progress to ensure compliance with the pre-determined execution plan.
  • Coordinate preparation and execution of engineering schedules, use financial and monthly forecasting to manage and contain costs. Prepare or coordinates preparation of progress billings, pursue timely payments from the customer and authorizes payments to material suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Participate in project evaluations, acceptance testing. Handle the completion of all close out documentation such as As-built drawings, system operating instructions, transfers or excess materials, billings, collections and payments, and all project records.
  • Proactive management of Contract, Claim and Risk. Development of opportunities for Change Orders and negotiations with customer. Identify potential problems and device contingency plans.
  • Develop and deliver monthly project reports, customer progress reports, customer change proposals, and presentations to management and internal / external partners.

What You Bring

  • Education: Minimum High School Diploma. 3+ years' combined or total experience as PM dealing with factories and coordinate planned outages, warranty interventions, forced outages, or working in heavy equipment industry, preferably in Energy sector. Experience in managing customers as single point of contact for all project related topics.
  • Strong leader with excellent oral and written communication skills; able to demonstrate presentation skills. Able to work independently!
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Word, Excel, Power Point etc. Influential in dealing effectively within matrix reporting structure.
  • 20% travel- PM may need to travel to project sites to participate in customer meetings and project evaluations.
  • Experience of running Industrial Steam Turbine projects (preferred).
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
