We are experts in delivering on turnkey high voltage substation solutions and due to growth, we have an incredible opportunity for a passionate and talented project engineer to join our Project Delivery Team as a Project Engineer. Based out of our Newcastle office this incredibly varied position will enable you to work on a plethora of projects across the UK.

Your profile

We are looking for someone who ideally has Project Engineering experience gained within the Transmission & Distribution Industry. You will understand Transmission & Distribution standards & technologies together with knowledge of Substation Primary & Secondary Systems. You will have knowledge and understanding of current Health and Safety and Environmental Regulations as well as Risk Management processes.

Of course, fantastic communication & interpersonal skills are required along with a strong work ethic, able to work of own initiative and ability to be proactive

Your responsibilities

Your Project Engineer role will require you to support and drive the project / work packages assigned to you. You will work alongside the Technical Lead Engineer, the Procurement Officer and the Senior Project Engineer/ Project Manager on all subcontractor & supplier packages as well as manage subcontractors/suppliers’ packages through delivery up to handover.

You will be required to ensure all technical, procurement and quality information is made available for factory acceptance tests to take place and where necessary, attend acceptance tests, complete supplier / subcontractor performance assessments.

Commercially and technically, you are required to raise all potential risks, variations and opportunities and report to the Project Manager

You will be responsible for supporting in the preparation of Monthly Progress Reports on the assigned work packages for internal and external reporting, ensure procurement information for QA Plans is communicated to Procurement and liaise with site personnel and commissioning engineers on the work packages

You will be required to support customer facing meetings on discussions, technical queries, issues, and design risk management for the work packages assigned to you.
