Your profile

·       Minimum Education Level: Bachelor of Science

·       Specialization Field:  Mechanical Engineering or other adjacent technically oriented discipline (eg: Aerospace Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics)

  • Competency in technical areas of thermodynamics, fluids, dynamics, vibration beneficial

·       Entry Level- prior experience not required.

·       Advanced level- prior work experience in:   Gas compressors, pulsation analyses, positive displacement equipment, vibration and/or acoustic analyses, equipment field testing – vibration, piping analyses

Your responsibilities

·       The Gas Dynamics Engineer ensures that reciprocating compressor systems provided in process gas systems are succesfully designed ensuring operation free from acoustical and mechanical gas dynamic response issues. 

·       Completes Pulsation Studies of compressor and entire process piping system in accordance with industry standard API-618

·       The role has a strong analytical component and the engineer will be a key individual contributor to larger teams of both like disciplined teammates and project team personnel

·       Responsible for running Acoustic Simulation software and ANSYS Mechanical software for analysis of reciprocating compressor process gas systems  

·       Defines the products, components, and subsystems to be used and their characteristics including pulsation vessels, piping, supports

·       Supports compressor field issues through remote and on-site investigation and anlyses

·       Reviews industry sources and instills best practices to maintian Siemens Energy world class capabilities
