About this Role

As a Data Analyst you will act as a technical lead within the Transmission UK Project Management office, helping us with our transformation journey to become a truly data driven company.
Interfacing with the central Enterprise Data and Advanced Analytics team, whilst working alongside the Transmission UK stakeholders, you will have access to best-in-class technologies in the areas of desktop robotic automation, warehousing, data analysis and visualisation.

You will be responsible for the development and operation of advanced data architectures, to support the information lifecycle needs of the Transmission UK business as well as supporting the effective data analysis, with the purpose of drawing conclusions that support data driven business decisions.
In this role you will act as an ambassador for data analytics topics, sharing best practice and delivering awareness and training in the use of data analytics tools as well as promoting the importance of data quality and ownership.

Your Profile

1. Professional experience of 3+ years within a data management role or successful completion of a degree in a related field.
2. Advanced numerical and analytical skills, combined with experience of developing and managing complex ETL pipelines.
3. Good working knowledge of Tableau and Alteryx or equivalent data management tools, as well as a working knowledge of SQL language. Also, a grasp of Python is beneficial.
4. Good working knowledge of Microsoft 365 tools (Excel including VBA, SharePoint online, Power Automate, Power Apps). Experience of using SAP Data services would be beneficial.
5. Ability to train and coach others in the use of data analytics tools, increasing their confidence and capability to develop self service solutions.
6. A high level of written and verbal communication skills and ability to develop executive-level presentations, reports, and communications.
7. An Interest in Data Literacy and Data Quality topics, with the ability to articulate suitable solutions to resolve data quality issues that affect decision making.
8. Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities in a structured and methodical manner.
Your responsibilities
1. Be an ambassador for Data Analytics, promoting best practise and maximising the value derived from data by the business.
2. Develop and maintain robust ETL pipelines to process and load data into the data warehouse using tools such as SAP Business Objects and Alteryx.
3. Develop reports and business dashboards using Tableau designer, SSRS and other approved analytic and visualisation tools.
4. Monitor and audit Data Quality and propose source system improvements to improve the quality of data being captured and available within the reports.
5. Ensure all development complies with Siemens Energy Cybersecurity governance requirements, ensuring all supporting documentation and procedures relating to data analytics are complete.
6. Manages business stakeholder relationships to ensure that their requirements are fully understood and seek regular feedback to ensure that they are able to obtain the required insights from the solutions provided.
7. Develop and deliver training and provide support that increases the skills and confidence in the use of the available data analytics tools within the business.
8. Connect into the central Enterprise Data & Advanced Analytics team, ensuring alignment with Siemens Energy data analytics strategies (infrastructure, processes, and best practices)
