A Snapshot of Your Day: 

As a Customs Classification Specialist in our customs operations hub in Bucharest, you work in a team responsible to classify products with relevant customs information and to determine the origin of products.

How you'll make an impact:

In this task you will follow the internal rules and regulations as established by your organization and the relevant legal entity you work for.
You and your team colleagues are responsible for:
  • Identifying the required information for customs classification and gathering this information from systems and/or colleagues of the relevant departments such as engineering, R&D and other technical areas.
  • Analyzing and classifying goods according to customs regulations and taking into consideration technical attributes required for the classification process.
  • Analyzing trade documents from suppliers, associations and other relevant market players to properly identify and document the county of origin of products.
  • Calculating and determining the country of origin (preferential and non-preferential).
  • Monitoring and controlling those processes.
While performing your tasks, you always have an open mind to identify and report room for improvement and process flaws. You actively participate in team growth efforts. You report to the team lead Customs classification located in Bucharest.

What you bring:
  •  We would like to get to know you, if you have a professional education or a degree from a university in preferably engineering or, trade, legal etc.
  • Your graduation from university or at least 1 year experience in the field of customs classification (customs tariff and (non/preferential) origin determination) convinces us to have found the right candidate.
  • First international experience (work in international teams, work abroad) is a plus.
  • Best case for you would be to have first experience in the work in customs/ERP IT systems such as SAP, MIC.
  • Fluent language skills in Romanian, as well as English are a must. German language skills would be a plus.
  • Negotiation, presentation, and assertiveness are attributes that describe you the best.
  • A quote of business travels of 5-10 % fits to your expectation of the job.
About the team:

You work in a team responsible to ensure customs classification and origin management, on behalf of other Siemens Energy legal entities from different countries. Within this responsibility you gather data/documentation, determine the correct customs classification (tariff), and the preferential as well as the non-preferential country of origin.
