Where will you be working?  (Locations will primarily be in the Basra area, Rumaila, Shatt Al Basra with extended travel around other locations in Iraq)

(Please note the Head Office is in Baghdad but the successful candidate will be located mainly at site)

Siemens Energy Gas & Power - Service Business Unit delivers the right service solutions for gas turbines, steam turbines, generators, Boilers or compressors to increase efficiency, reliability and availability throughout their entire lifecycle. From modernizations and upgrades, remote monitoring, lifetime extensions, digital and condition monitoring to LTSAs for complete plants, we partner with you to achieve optimal performance and maximize success.

The Opportunity

This position offers the chance to join a dynamic and growing Siemens Energy business in Iraq as part of the Service Team to execute a key role in supporting critical infrastructure, offering the opportunity to develop existing competencies and learn new skills through various forms of training.


Your profile

  • You should have completed studies in mechanical engineering (B.Sc.) or power engineering/process engineering.
  • And have at least 5 years of experience in planning, construction and operation of HRSGs (Heat Recovery Steam Generators / Boilers)
  • Experience in working with interdisciplinary and international teams.
  • Ideally experience in power plant engineering and commissioning.
  • Knowledge of welding processes desirable.
  • Knowledge of project management and project execution.
  • Very good command of the English language.
  • Initiative, quality orientation, ability to work in a team, communication and organizational skills.
  • Analytical, strategic thinking, high learning ability.

Your responsibilities

  • Preparation and carrying out of inspections and leading a team of NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) inspectors on site.
  • Extensive documentation of findings and preparation of inspection reports with maintenance and repair recommendations.
  • Statistical evaluation of the findings at all HRSGs.
  • Responsibility for cost monitoring and control.
  • Participation in the qualification and selection of suppliers.
  • Planning and supervision/implementation of revisions, repairs and modifications to the equipment.
  • Trouble shooting/engineering support for the equipment.
  • Developing ideas of remote support, digitalization and inspection tools and manage related R&D projects.
