A Snapshot of Your Day
As the Head of of Edge Software Development Team, your day-to-day activities will be focused on driving business growth around edge software development. You will be responsible for overseeing and managing the software developers that handle this tech stack, working closely with the responsible product owners leading those feature teams. Your day might include overseeing and managing the team’s performance, analyzing your team individual capabilities, and required skill levels, developing strategies to improve efficiency and quality, ensuring that software engineering projects are delivered on time and to the highest quality standards. In addition, you are happy to lead by example and engage in coding tasks.

How You’ll Make an Impact
As department head, you will play a critical role in establishing and building the new department from scratch. 
You will be responsible for ensuring the quality and efficiency of software application development for customers and BAs. 
Your impact will be measured by the success of the department in ensuring proper utilization and providing critical skill levels that are essential to the organization. 
Key responsibilities include creating and implementing staff development strategies, training, ensuring software quality, identifying, and analyzing market trends, and collaborating with other departments to drive growth. 
You understand how to leverage your software development projects on top of of SE software factory platform model.

What You Bring  
University degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related technical field.
At least 5 years of professional experience in software development ideally with one in a senior or management position.
Strong technical knowledge of modern software development methods (e.g. Agile, Scrum, Kanban, Scrum of Scrum, Pair programming, Squads), programming languages (e.g. Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, typescript) and cloud technologies.
Experience in leading software development projects from idea to market launch.
Proven experience in fostering innovation and applying Design Thinking and Lean Startup principles.
Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and lead interdisciplinary teams.

In the central Digital Products and Solutions (DPS) organization we are responsible for developing software solutions for both internal and external customers. 
In DPS our SW products cover already today a wide range of different categories, and we see many opportunities for growth: Asset Performance Management, Energy Management, Asset Monitoring, Asset Health Prediction, Customer Portal & AI assisted Applications, Connectivity & Edge, Backend Core / Domain / Platform Services and Professional Services
