A Snapshot of Your Day (position overview)

As part of the Business Controlling team for Gas Services Region North America, you will be responsible for fulfilling accounting, forecasting, and reporting requirements while coordinating, reviewing, analyzing, and consolidating feedback to your internal customers and partners.

How You’ll Make an Impact (responsibilities)

You will gain valuable experience and knowledge in these areas while working with several cross-functional teams and multiple levels of management to improve existing processes and approaches.

  • Act as a member of the business controlling team providing transparency and developing/improving processes to assist with financial performance.
  • Support month end closing and reporting, including journal entry preparation, EPM+ validations review and clearing, quarterly ADSTAR, and miscellaneous reporting
  • Perform account reconciliations
  • Support quarterly and annual KPMG Audit
  • Support tax process including annual tax packages preparation, transfer pricing, and state sales tax
  • Perform financial planning, forecasting, controlling, and consolidating budget data (including top-down and bottom-up plans) while ensuring compliance with Siemens Energy Financial Reporting Guidelines and other accounting standards

What You Bring (requirements)

  • Bachelors or equivalent experience in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of successful experience Accounting and/or Finance with the ability to handle multiple topics and manage time appropriately
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and accuracy; dedicated and resourceful to achieve goals and be proactive in problem solving; flexible and able to adapt in a fast-paced and multifaceted environment with tight deadlines
  • Able to optimally complete tasks as assigned in an efficient manner and within a reasonable amount of time; must take responsibility for and ownership of assigned tasks with demonstrated ability to learn tasks quickly.
  • Able and willing to work overtime, at month end and during the month if/when needed
  • Proven track record to collaborate cross-functionally with departments such as Finance, Engineering, and Field Service; strong Microsoft Excel skills with familiarity in Alteryx a plus; willing to travel up to 5% as needed.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
