Job title - Supplier Quality Engineer – Turbine Blades and Vanes
Location – Lincoln-UK
A Snapshot of Your Day
This position as a Supplier Quality Engineer working in the Turbine Blades and Vanes organization will primarily manage the Siemens Qualification process for complex turbine blade and vane coatings systems.
Supply chain pressures have led to the need for development of additional partners for these complex coatings to ensure business continuity.
You will be working with cross-functional internal partners and external partners to ensure product and process specs are met to give required functionality and life of components.
It includes the definition and preparation of qualification/testing requirements with the internal cross functional partners. This plan will be developed and communicated with nominated external partners.You will be responsible for execution of this qualification plan to gain unconditional approval status for the use of these parts in aero derivative/Industrial gas turbines
How You will Make an Impact
- Perform supplier qualifications, product/ process qualifications and supplier development to provide a global, quality assured and cost-effective supply base for the components within the Turbine Blade and Vanes commodity.
- Introduce, maintain and improve the Supplier Quality Management System, implement and track measures and activities to ensure the requested quality of the supplied components and services.
- Working with many interfacing depts inc Operational and Strategic Purchasing, Metallurgical Laboratory Manufacturing, Assembly, Design Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain, and Internal Quality management.
What You Bring
- Batchelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
- Extensive experience in a Quality Engineering role
- Knowledge and experience of working on coating systems for aerospace/industrial gas turbines and familiarity of Siemens Energy design standards.
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrating high professional judgement
- Ability to travel up to 10% of the time
- Experience with Engineering/PLM software Teamcenter, SAP,
- Excellent computer skills (MS Office, Teams, or similar environments)
- The selected candidate will be hired with a local contract, if applicable, from the country of application and therefore having residence and valid documentation/authorization to work in the country is required.
