***Please note that this position is located at Hamilton Patriot Station in Williamsport, PA & Hamilton Liberty Station in Towanda, PA. Current contract is in place thru the end of 2023 with ongoing negotiations to extend thru 2026.***

A Snapshot of Your Day

The Service Programs Resident Engineer will start each day motivated to anticipate / find solutions that satisfy our customer’s needs. You are the first point of contact for day-to-day operational concerns. You will collaborate with the Service Program Manager, Field Service and Order Management, to ensure the LTP contracts are carried out in a manner that adds new value to both Siemens Energy and our customers. You will build and manage relationships with customers that creates trust and reinforces the Siemens Energy mission of “Customer First”. As an essential part of Siemens Energy, you ensure that the customers needs are being met by the solutions being offered.

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Daily collaboration with plant staff regarding ongoing operations and maintenance. Review plant turnovers and provide guidance or request additional data on areas of operational concern.
  • Operational issues – collaborate with engineering as needed and follow up with Ops teams on daily operational status.
  • Maintenance issues – where applicable support customer maintenance with vendor manuals, service engineering support, or other emergent issues pertaining to Siemens Energy supplied equipment.
  • Support the Project Manager, as needed to implement the Long Term Program (LTP) maintenance contract.
  • Focus on improving value to the customer, being cognizant of available upgrades and coordinating with the District Service & Sales office for offers to increase the scope of plant services.
  • Ensure QIS's are entered for quality events. Drive corrective actions related to key Customer visible quality events and communicate resolution with Customers within TMS.
  • Administer the Total Maintenance Service (TMS) process by preparing, facilitating and documenting TMS meetings between the customer and Siemens personnel to plan all maintenance outages, implement product modifications and upgrades to the plant.
  • Coordinate with the customer and Siemens repair facilities when customer components are sent off-site for refurbishment and/or repair.
  • Lead site communication between Siemens and the customer during outages. Identify and assist in the resolution of warranty and commercial issues.
  • Ensure technical correspondence, operating history and configuration records are maintained.
  • Analyze, interpret and help resolve problems associated with forced outages.
  • Assist the customer with troubleshooting activities related to all Siemens supplied equipment onsite as well as with issues associated with startup & operational activities.
  • Be available to the customer during odd hours (available for OT as needed).
  • Build, grow and maintain strong Customer and internal partnerships by living the highest standards of our SOCIUS principles of Accountability, Optimism, Communication, Trust and Flexibility.

What You Bring

  • Bachelors of Science in Engineering or advanced degree preferred. High school diploma/GED required with equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant engineering power plant production experience, 5+ years overall in Power Generation. Preferred: Field Service experience managing an outage. Experience with Combustion Turbines, Steam Turbines and Generators.
  • A high degree of customer relationship management and financial project management skills are required.
  • Previous project management experience demonstrating ability to deliver complex and high value projects to multiple customers.
  • Experience in customer facing roles and ability to communicate clearly to senior management.
  • Balance of Plant (auxiliaries) knowledge preferred.
  • Ability to do walking, reaching, climbing, and stooping and lifting (up to 75 pounds). Ability to travel 20%.
