As an XR Architect at Siemens Energy, you will have a dynamic and fulfilling role. You will complete projects involving crafting, testing, and implementing extended reality applications on various platforms and devices. Collaborate with colleagues and partners to refine requirements, maintain agile backlogs and code repositories, and coordinate the project lifecycle. Develop technical architectures, integrate solutions with existing systems, and establish global standards. You will also coordinate XR application integrations with backend services, ensuring strict cybersecurity standards. Support the development of advanced XR features and interactions by writing and adapting scripts, and work with software clearance experts to ensure compliance of internally developed applications and third-party solutions. Collaborate with external partners on vital adjustments to third-party solutions.

• You will use your creativity and technical skills to create clever, cybersecure and high performing solutions and applications, and to consolidate them in standards.
• Navigate the complexities of our IT systems and platforms for effectively integrating multiuser XR applications and ensuring secure exchange of protected data.
• Create solutions that make the most out of our IT infrastructure and target XR devices.
• Leverage the newest technologies and tools in the field of extended reality.
• Managing skills you will keep projects in time, resources in check, and documentation up to date.
• QA skills will ensure compliance and high quality in every breakthrough of the project.
• Support the design team to fine tune UX with your coding skills in game engines.
• Expedite clearance of internal and 3rd party solutions

What you bring

• Computer science/engineering degree or comparable qualification.
• At least 5 years work experience with solution architecture in the field of extended reality.
• You have in-depth knowledge of backend architectures, cloud-based services, and cybersecurity, with experience in all types of databases and APIs.
• You have experience in technical architecture and integration, quality assurance and testing, and solution rollout for extended reality applications.
• You have experience in XR software development, coding in game engines (Unity, Unreal Engine), and specialized software for extended reality development.
• You are no stranger to 3D asset handling, knowing your way around tools such as Blender, Maya and within game engines.
• You have good communication, collaboration, and project management skills.
• You have a passion for learning new technologies and exploring new possibilities in the field of extended reality.
• Proficient in English. Portuguese or German is a Bonus.
• Experience in the Siemens IT ecosystem is advantageous.

The Extended Reality team in Digital Core is the North Star in Siemens Energy for augmented and virtual reality, as well as other interactive 3D technologies. Our global team supports the growth of the business by enabling and promoting XR technologies, platforms and applications, and driving innovative solutions with internal and external partners. We work with digitalization groups across the company to address all XR use cases and establish technical standards.
