Head of Project Management (Regional Role) (Updated as of 1 March 2024)

Purpose of the Position

Manage Project Management activities of power generation service and maintenance projects across the Pacific Sub Region (currently Korea, Japan, and Australia) in order to achieve the objectives of the organization relating to EHS, revenue and EBIT, customer satisfaction, execution of projects, and development of the people and processes in the organization.

As a key part of the power generation service and maintenance business, you will be a leader of Country PM heads and will interface with business leaders across functions such as project execution, commercial, sales and service management.

How You’ll Make an Impact

Operational:

Ensure reliable service and maintenance project execution in each country through managing the country PM leads to achieve:

• Preparation and planning of projects
• Active management of projects during project execution and close out
• Managing individual project issues (failures, fleet issues, etc)
• Co-ordination with offshore PM teams
• Transparently reporting status/results/issues
• Driving process optimization

Leadership

• Key decision maker driving change and strategic direction within the PM organization
• Manage country PM leads and oversee people issues (resources, development, succession, etc)
• Provide coaching to team members and oversee development of talent within the organization

Customer Relationships:

Work with the country PM leads and regional management to:

• Manage senior customer relationships in each country
• Building effective networks and partnerships

What You Bring

• Minimum 10 years of experience in Power Generation required, with experience in maintenance of rotating machinery very desirable
• BS in engineering or related area. Other relevant post graduate qualifications desirable
• Industry knowledge and strong networks within the Power Generation industry in Korea
• Experience managing and developing teams in a complex domestic and international business (min 5 years)
• Experience communicating with internal and external executive management on complex technical, commercial and customer issues.
• Willing to travel an estimated 30% domestic and international.
• Experience in engineering, field service or project management
• Understanding of power plant technology and business models
• Profit and loss experience with an entrepreneurial approach

Gas Services

Our Gas Services division offers Low-emission power generation through service and decarbonization. Zero or low emission power generation and all gas turbines under one roof, steam turbines and generators. Decarbonization opportunities through service offerings, modernization, and digitalization of the fleet.
