Join Siemens Energy as a Project Engineer and you’ll have responsibility for the technical and commercial success of assigned C&I projects during their implementation at site.

You will be required to:
  • Take responsibility for team leadership duties in relation to assigned work;
  • Ensure accurate execution of field assembly and commissioning services to fulfil obligations in a professional and safe manner [on time and to budget]; and
  • Apply project management competencies to support the delivery of business unit service and project obligations.

Your profile

  • Consistent track record of working in a systems engineering role with varying duties / functions
  • Relevant engineering qualification to HND level or above; APM professional qualification or equivalent; IOSH Managing Safety or equivalent.
  • Solid understanding of instrumentation, DCS and electrical systems in a power generation setting.
  • Experience of delivering projects on UK power plants.
  • Experience of taking full responsibility for managing work sites in a variety of project environments, both complex and diverse [team size managed: 10+ members].
  • A sound understanding of project management principals, tools, and techniques.
  • Computer literate with sound knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of applications.
  • Must be proficient in written and spoken English. A basic knowledge of spoken German would be helpful


Your responsibilities
  • Work planning and management to ensure fulfilment of contract obligations within defined time and quality framework
  • Performing regular monitoring and reporting on work status
  • Implementing a ‘safety first’ approach in relation to all assigned work and living the Zero Harm culture - thinking & working safely, in line with organisation & regulatory requirements
  • Risk identification - promptly assessing and evaluating factors that significantly influence the implementation
  • Managing implementation within defined financial framework
  • Planning of partner interfaces (suppliers, purchased items, etc.)
  • Principled application of prescribed standards, including Siemens Energy tools and methods
  • Principled application of system engineering knowledge & experience to ensure compliance with contract obligations
  • Continually monitoring suppliers and deliverables for non-conformances and instigating appropriate countermeasures
  • Conducting risk and opportunity management
  • Conducting claim & contract management
  • Managing customer expectations - involving customer in decision making and providing regular information
  • Encouraging additional potential business activities
