A Snapshot of Your Day

Your day revolves around industrial control systems aftermarket projects where your role includes a variety of supporting regional teams, managing complex Installation & Commissioning (I&C) projects, and addressing technical issues. Collaborating with diverse teams across departments, you'll optimize project methods, tools, planning, and training to ensure high-quality results and customer satisfaction! You will play a pivotal part in ensuring the smooth installation and commissioning of control systems, thereby contributing significantly to the success of our projects and client satisfaction!

How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Project Leadership: Direct and lead teams to complete complex installation and commissioning projects.
  • Project Support: Support central and regional functions with planning, coordination, and methods to complete I&C of control system upgrades; create detailed project schedules, people estimates, manage I&C toolkits, witness or support FAT and SAT as needed.
  • Technical Guidance: employ a review and assessment strategy with regional teams to ensure appropriate customer agreements, handovers, and capability (tools, methods, roles and trained people) are in place to effectively prepare and deliver I&C services.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Connect-the-dots and keep all involved aligned to project goals, have a communication strategy for multi-functional teams internally and on client site to comprehend project specifications, challenges, and project progress.
  • Problem Solving: In your own projects, or in support of other project managers, resolve complex technical and non-technical challenges during I&C, with timely solving, manage scope creep and punch-list closure with customer.
  • Quality Assurance: ensure relevant quality assurance and quality control measures are followed from end to end of project, apply inspections at handovers stages, shipping and delivering of materials, mechanical completion and commissioning field test records.
  • Documentation: Standardize and maintain field execution work packs, project progress and closure reports, QA/QC records, compile lessons logs and standard processes into guides.
  • Team Development: Encourage a collaborative work environment, mentor team members, and facilitate skill development within central and regional teams.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Promote knowledge exchange within the engineering functions and project support teams across various locations.
  • Customer acceptance: manage expectations with project challenges and define clear boundaries or practical conditions for closing issues and gaining final acceptance.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience - professional accreditation in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Controls Systems or related field.
  • Project management certification, e.g. PMP, Prince2, CPM, etc.) is highly desirable, practical project management or project engineering knowledge is essential.
  • Work experience in industrial controls systems installation and commissioning, with proven track record in successful management of projects within an industrial environment for rotating equipment or general process plant operations. Prior experience in a leadership role is essential.
  • Familiarity of change management processes and tools, project engineering methods as well as experience with relevant industry standards (e.g. IEEE, IEC, NFPA 70E, etc.) would be desirable.
  • Experience working with industrial aero-derivative gas turbine technology or similar industrial products for Oil & Gas or Energy industry would be advantageous, but experience from other industries with transferable skills could also be considered.
  • Practitioner of a Systems Engineering approach to continuous improvement is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work under pressure without being pressured and have proactive positive attitude.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities to effectively manage teams and interact with stakeholders in culturally diverse environments.

About the Team

This team is a diverse mix of individuals backgrounds and experiences, mostly in the UK but also has team members located in the US. Our team touches many functions as a support function and works closely with complementary core package engineering teams in Canada and USA, with the execution on specific Projects. The primary responsibility of our team is working with the various Regions and Field Services to support the in-service fleet of aero-derivative gas turbine packages used in Power Generations and Oil & Gas industry. We are also supporting our customers in their new developments for decarbonisation.
