A Snapshot of Your Day
As contract and claim manger on Asia Pacific regional level you will be supporting all counties in APAC in their contract and claim management efforts, ensuring a consistent, continuous, and professional approach to all projects and especially large and complex projects for the Grid Solution business. You will:

be working with international project teams (project managers, procurement and legal) to resolve issues related to contractual disputes and claims.
be able to rapidly grow your network within and outside Siemens Energy Asia Pacific
strengthen your negotiation skills when facing our external clients
help to achieve SE financial targets by keeping our projects on track

How You’ll Make an Impact
The specific responsibilities and deliverables associated with this role.

  • Development and implementation of claim and change management strategies for Grid Solutions Asia Pacific on regional-, country- and project specific level
  • Build up contract- and claim management competencies in APAC countries and educate project teams about the contract provisions and contractual change management requirements
  • In collaboration with project management, ensure observance of contractual requirements, rights and obligations towards customers, subcontractors, and consortium partners to ensure scope and commercial requirements are met and to protect Siemens Energy contractual rights and entitlements.
  • Lead change orders and claims resolution effort (preparation, presentation, and negotiation) in collaboration with the international project team.
  • Mitigation of liquidated damages, warranty, and other claims; define the strategy and lead/support internal and external meetings and negotiations.
  • Collect, prepare, analyze and manage relevant claim documents and evidence (including draft letters, settlement agreement, contract amendments, etc.) in accordance with contractual deadlines and requirements and in collaboration with legal

What You Bring

  • University degree in a technical field, such as industrial, mechanical, electrical engineering, or legal or commercial background are acceptable.
  • Minimum 5 years working experience either in project management, project planning or contract & claim management.
  • Experience in the energy industry is beneficial
  • Comprehensive knowledge of contract management, terms, and conditions
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Strategic thinking and creative problem solving
  • Ability to travel internationally.
  • Strong communication skills, fluent in English (verbal and written)
