A Snapshot of Your Day

As the Lead Test Engineer of High Voltage Power Transformer Test Field at our new Siemens Energy Transformers Repair Center in Linz, Austria, you will play a pivotal role within the organization planning, developing, and directing the testing of the power transformer. You will execute according to the Company’s goals and current regulations and provide the necessary resources. You will ensure and develop your team’s specialist knowledge and contribute to the development of business processes.


How You’ll Make an Impact

  • Coordinate the operations of the test department, including planning and implementing power transformer tests.
  • Manage logistics related to testing, including equipment certification, maintenance, upgrades, and procurement of new equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the testing process.
  • Analyze test issues, conduct investigations, collaborate with the engineering department, and report findings to management.
  • Make recommendations to optimize testing efficiency and improve tools and processes.
  • Provide clear communication and support to customers regarding test results and troubleshooting investigations.


What You Bring

  • A bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Proven expertise in high voltage testing of power transformers, HV components, or HV electrical systems, including HV circuit breakers, HV current transformers, HV potential transformers, and HV bushings, up to 750 kV.
  • Candidates ready to step into a management role, specifically as Head of Test Field within two years, are strongly encouraged to apply.
  • Skilled in the tools and technologies crucial for testing environments, as well as electric power testing equipment and system development.
  • Demonstrate a collaborative approach with a strong dedication to customer service, effective communication skills, and a relentless dedication to meeting deadlines.
  • As part of a global organization, a minimum English proficiency level of B is required for effective collaboration with internal and external partners.

At Siemens Energy we offer competitive compensation and additional benefits based on your performance, experience and qualification. Due to the Austrian legal regulations, we are obliged to state the minimum salary for this position. Please note that there is a clear willingness for a higher compensation considering your individual expectations, expertise and skills. The minimum salary for this position in the collective agreement for the electrical and electronics industry is in the amount of 64.734,18 € gross/year for a full-time position (38,5 h/week).
