A Snapshot of Your Day
After working from home yesterday, today is planned as a lab-day in the Hardware-in-the-Loop laboratory. After the last weeks were occupied with the analysis and reporting for a HiL-campaign of a big hydrogen project, you will now start to reconfigure the laboratory setup for an R&D-project to shape the next generation of hydrogen electrolyzers. The team responsible for preparing the offline simulation models has already finished and now you are looking to verify the models in a Controller-Hardware-in-the-Loop setting. For that you and your teammates have to setup the hardware arrangement accordingly and program equivalent real-time capable simulation models. After lunch you are taking part in the bi-weekly stand-up meeting of the R&D project you are participating in before returning to the lab. Today, you nearly finished the integration of one control unit. Normally, you would go home now, but today there is a team event in the evening, that you have been looking forward to.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Preparation and execution of (Controller- or Power-)Harware-in-the-Loop tests of current and future electrolyzer products
- Development of real-time capable simulation models of electrolyzers, converters and their grid connection
- Enabling our costumers to achieve a grid code compliance with their hydrogen production plant
- Supporting sales activities in grid compliance topics
- Active support of project execution for large-scale electrolyzer plants
- Validation of simulation models by HiL or on-site testing
What You Bring
- Master’s degree or PhD in electrical engineering, with strong focus on grid simulation or system/controller stability
- Experience in (Power- or Controller-) Hardware-in-the-Loop testing
- Experience in setting up real-time capable grid simulation models
- Experience in the development of EMT and/or RMS simulation models in PSCAD, DIgSILENT Power Factory or Matlab Simulink is a plus
- Background in electrolysis applications or connection of renewable power plants
- Highly self-organized and reliable with a solution-driven approach
- Good teammate in a multi-disciplinary international environment
- Good communication skills in English, German is a plus
